Keep your eyes open, word is that that Lions are looking at cutting a big name/contract. That is all I can say right now. Difference is this player is under contract.

Yeah, I'm on board the train that thinks it will be a player that actually has some talent and ability and actually does his job.
They've already proven that they aren't interested in keeping solid players and they've already proven that they have no interest in getting rid of the dead weight.
At this point, they could cut Stafford or CJ and it wouldn't be a surprise.

My top two guesses are Peterson and White.
As much as I think dropping Backus would force the Lions to fix that spot quickly, I wouldn't want to do it and give up on Suh/McCoy at #2. Because I think if they drop Backus, they ignore the DT slot and take Okung. There's not really anyone in FA worth going after (that's NOT an RFA,) so I don't think this big name is anyone from the O side of the ball.
I also don't think Sims is making MORE then Peterson or White. He's still in his rookie contract, how much is it really worth? I think if you find me the highest paid D players, we can narrow it down real quick as to who the Lions will dump.

I never understood how so many people could get so wrapped up with the cap and contracts etc.?
It baffles me, to each is own I guess. But that's some hard core dungeons and dragons geek shit right there!

My guess is White, Peterson has been rumored to be cut this season from the time they traded for him and thats exactly why he will be kept i think.
