It looks like I'm going to miss my first Lions game in a very long time tomorrow because I will be in Niagara Falls for the WPT North American Poker Championship. For those of you that are not familiar with poker, it's the tournament that's televised on the Travel Channel every week.

If I make it past the first day, you can check to see how I am doing on the live updates at

http://www.worldpokertour.com/index.php

Many of the top pro poker players will be there so making the money is going to be extremely difficult especially with 600 people in the event. The tournament could last as long as five days. It should be a great experience for me but what I would really like to WIN!

Thanks!

BTW I played poker in Windsor with Olympic Swimmer Michael Phelps on Friday. It was weird to have the best swimmer in the entire world sitting next to me.

Tech already got into a fight with Dan Harrington regarding the talent of Joey Harrington.

Looks like he made it past the first day. But I don't see him on the day 2 list. But they only have about a 1/3 of the players on the chip count list. So either he is really low on chips or is already out.

I was knocked out at 7:30 today. I started slow in day two but worked my way back up to a reasonable chip stack. I had a golden opportunity to double up and went all in with the best hand but the guy hit his set on the river. I really needed to double up at that point because the blinds were getting very high and I needed chips going into day three. If my cards held up I would have had an excellent shot at making the money. I believe I came in something like 100th out of over 500 players mostly pros. I was upset on how I lost but I had a great time. I made some great plays on some well known pros especially JC Tran. I almost knocked him out in day one and now it looks like he is one of the chip leaders. I went their to win so I can't say I am happy about not finishing in the money but I did come out of this knowing that I can play against these guys and I learned a lot from the pro players.

Usually in the live updates they only update how the well know pros are doing. Not sure if they will post my results tomorrow.

I wanted to bring this post back up because I can't believe, I played poker with this kid for three hours and spoke to him a lot during that time. Dan Miller the Lions play by play guy was in the same fantasy football league as Phelps last year.

That's awesome Tech!

You were just 15 spots back from the master Doyle Brunson himself.

Keep it up man!
