I think it is irresponsible reporting to say that Favre is anything but the worst quarterback in the NFL at this moment. He is horrible. The announcers were going off about how the 2 missed FG's were the key plays of the game. Favre made half a dozen throws today that would have gotten any other QB in the league benched...for the season. He has no business throwing 80% of his deep balls. He has no business being on the football field right now because he gives the Packers nothing. This is coming from a guy who has appreciated what Favre has done for most of his career. Did you see that pick 6 he handed to Lance Briggs??? Did you see those intentional groundings on consecutive possessions?? Did you see his several INT's on deep throws??? Did you see him do the exact same thing last week??? The guy is making a mockery of himself and his career on national TV and its a sad thing. He might be trying to play so bad that the announcers finally give up and stop making excuses for him. R.I.P. Brett Favre, NFL caliber starting QB.

Blog, Are you nuts! If your life was on the line for the Lions to reach the Super Bowl next year and you can choose between Harrington and Farve, who would you pick? Can a human really be this stupid :smt021 :smt021

Farve is forcing the ball because he has no choice. He could easily pad his stats like Joey and throw check downs but the guy is playing to win. CAN'T YOU SEE THAT? Your losing it dude!! I can't believe we are talking about something so stupid. Farve is still an excellent QB and I can see him playing for another 5 years at a high level.

I think the Fat Lady started singing Brett's song a while ago, but the Packers have been unwilling to listen to her because of all he's meant to them in the past.

Didn't he throw like 4 and 5 INT's in playoff losses the past couple of years? It's something like that but I'm too lazy to look it up. Regardless, he wasnt' forcing it, trying to make something happen in those games to make up for having to go it with replacement RB's and WR's.

Great player...great career...just hung around too long IMO.

Farve is still a great QB and physically he doesn't look any different than he did 5 years ago. We all knew the GB offense was going to be terrible before the season started and everyone thought the Lions offense would be fantasic. Farve is taking chances because that is the only chance GB has to win. I've never seen a player care less about his stats than Brett Farve. I think you guys are fucking crazy if you would take Harrington over Farve. I MEAN FUCKING CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow i'm pretty suprprised at the suggestion that Joey is better. I thought you people had more smarts but I guess I was wrong. I'm beginning to wonder if Lions fans have any sense as to what a winner is either in a team or player.

Favre would be kicking ass with our recievers vs what he has tro work with in GB and Joeywould continue to put up less than Mediocre numbers if he played for the packers.

If you morons think Joey is pkaying better I have some ral nice oceanfront property in Arizona to see you real cheap. Just send me a bkank check and I'll fill in the blanks.

*INSIDERS ALERT*

Well those that have known me may know that I have an insider on the Green Bay Packers organization. And my source, which is an offensive player for GB, has said that he will support Farve for as long as he wants to play. Good or bad. The man means so much to him for what he has done for his team that he will support him as long as he wants to play. BUT.....his personal feelings are that he thinks for the team to move on and get better Farve needs to retire. He says that many of Farve's problems are because he can't get loose like he did in the past and his vision (not visibility but you get it) is not as sharp as it used to be thus resulting in bad decisions. Farve has not made a decision on what to do next year, at least not to the players. He also said that he would be very suprised if Farve was not to start on Sunday. He basically says Farve has more pull in that department than the coach. If Farve wants to play he plays, and based on the game then it is up to the coach.

But to get on the subject, I hear this and choose Joey. Why because one of the guys will be in the league next year and one won't. Get it.

Scottie Vines has been our #2 receiver for a good part of the season. Our #1 receiver has been a healthy scratch for multiple games because of bad work ethic. Our #1 draft pick this year has been a bust (this season atleast). Our #1 RB can't play 10 snaps without dislocating a head or something.

Again,
Since Week 8:
Favre (9 games) 58.3% completions, 5 TD's, 20 INT's, 58.2 rating
Ballgame (6 games) 62% completions, 5 TD's, 4 INT's, 86.1 rating

If you think Favre has been playing better than Joey since Week 8 (which is what I stipulated in my post which featured these stats), then I have a white jacket with arm restraints that would fit you perfectly.

TWENTY INTERCEPTIONS IN NINE GAMES!!!!!!!!! There's no defense for that, man. A bad 3 or 4 game streak is forgivable, but over half a season of quarterbacking brutality?? Its over man, its over.

In all fairness to Scottie Vines, he has caught almost any ball that has been even remotely in his reach when he has played.. That's WHEN there was a ball thrown even remotely near him, by either QB, of course.
(Not to get off subject here, but I sure hope they keep Vines..)

- Anyway, about this Joey/Favre issue..

Favre is playing like shit.. and Joey plays like shit. Favre's team sucks, Joey's team sucks. Favre is a HAS-BEEN, and Joey is a NEVER-WAS.
Personally I'd rather not have either one of them as the quarterback if I wanted to win a game..

Answering this is like asking if you want to be pissed on or shit on.

I picked Joey, because the poll said "Right now". If you just asked straight up, who would you want playing QB, well then of course it would be Favre. Today though is a different story, Favre has lost his shine. It happens to every guy eventually, and Favre is no different. Joey didn't play as many snaps as Favre did over the past nine games, yet I still would take my chances with Joey's 3 turnovers in a game compared to Favre's 5.

Boy i have to work on the way I frame these posts...I did not want to shit or piss on you guys.

BTW the poll is neck and neck 10-10 so there is a legitimate fundamental disagreement (some being emotional/ some being logical)...and the problem is that the guys picking Farve are being emotional and not logical. How can one of you argue with VT's objective stats?

P.S. I have never liked Joey as you all know- but don't let your hate or anger cloud your thinking....seek the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

I didn't say that because it was a bad topic Blog, I said it because it's like going to a whore house and having to choose between fat twins as to which one you want to go up stairs with.

Favre is at the end of his rope, people will vote for him becaue he IS Brett Favre. Just like people would watch Jordan if he came back becuase they still believe he can.

Joey is a wild card, and like any good poker player you know with a wild card you have a 1 in 52 chance of hitting that one card you need. Hence how Joey plays.

This one is a softball...

Tech always tries to burn me and he invariably comes up short again

His desperate attempt of boosting his ego at my expense has flunked

As you all know Blog is slippery as an eel

Softball lobed by Tech

Put your thinking caps on

And

I Ask the Board to Post

My retort to this softball

That I would knock out of the park

So Red Zone Board I ask you

What would Blog say?

1) Favre forces the ball because he has no choice and is trying to win...So when a rookie like Stafford does it, you crucify him...

2) Favre has become the new Kordell Stewart. Playing well in odd number years. In '09 for the Vikes, he is doing well. In '08 for the Jets, not so good. In '07 for the Pack, they just missed the SB. In '06 for the Pack, not so good. Would I want that on my team? No. There's a reason a guy like Stewart is out of the league, and it's inconsistency. And, for the record, Sanchez is doing just fine in NY with basically the same team that Favre had, who couldn't get the team into the playoffs...

Slow down, they were 8-3 before Favre hurt his shoulder. They are 3-2 now...

What are you talking about? Stafford hasn't been trying to force the ball, he's been missing open receivers and making bad throws. Farve is a unique player because he doesn't usually have great numbers but he has the ability to make big plays when his team needs them. I like Farve because he is a gamer and his success in the NFL speaks for itself! Stafford has not shown he can be a Farve type QB but it is still early! My only problem with Stafford and it is a big one is his accuracy!

Favre is only a 62% career passer....

Dan Marino or Eric Hipple?

K-Dawg did you have a Joey poster? Did you fall in love with all those finger pointing!?:confused5:

I defended the kid until about midway through his second year, when he was not showing any signs of development.

I think you need to support the young players, not throw them aside and call them a bust. Certain positions need time to develop, and it usually takes a QB, WR, 3 years to develop. But you should be seeing progress in the 2nd year, and Joey never showed signs of progressing.

For the record...I wanted Quentin Jammer.
